Fees & FAQs
Everything you need to know

Do you assess children? No, I only work with people who are 16+.
Do I have to come into your office? No, the assessment is all conducted online so you can do it from home. You need to make sure you are in a quiet, private room for 2 hours. If this is difficult for you, ask your university or employer to provide you with a private room with good internet connection.
Can I do the assessment on my phone? No, you must use a laptop. The tests do not display properly on a phone screen. You must have a stable internet connection. We will be using Zoom so you must check in advance that you can log into Zoom and that your camera and microphone work on Zoom.
How much does it cost? A standard SpLD (dyslexia) assessment with full report costs £250 payable in advance by bank transfer. It is the same fee for university students, private individuals, or employees. Payment must be received in advance for the assessment to proceed.
What about ADHD/ASC? I cannot provide clinical diagnostic assessments but I can provide what is called an ‘educational screening’. Given the long waiting lists, some universities (and employers) accept the educational screening report as evidence for support needs. The ADHD/ASC screening involves a follow-up meeting and costs an additional £100.
Do you only work with students? No, I also work with adults who book their own assessments and with people referred by their employer. I am very experienced in providing assessments for people in work. If the assessment is organised by your employer, your supervisor would normally complete a questionnaire in advance.
What if English isn’t my first language? This isn’t unusual. I would expect to see some difficulties with vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation. We look for an underlying cognitive pattern as well as trying to get your history of difficulties in your first language.
Do you provide a technology report? No, I give broad recommendations but you need a technology specialist to make precise recommendations. There is usually funding available for the technology assessment and report – from DSA for university students or AtW for employees.
Do you tell universities what adjustments they must make? I make recommendations but the final decision depends on the university and the specific course. Extra time in exams, specialist software, and some 1:1 support is typical. Student disabilities services will usually help you to make a DSA application.
“I don’t know why I put it off so long. I should have had an assessment years ago. Getting the support has made a real difference.”
